Whee, earthquake.

I experienced one or two in Japan, but this was the first one I've felt in California. I was at the Irish folk session I go to in Palo Alto, so we were a ways away, but it was still strong enough to derail conversation. Mostly it was a weird feeling of the ground being gently stirred.

Bookcase at home is still upright. I better secure that thing.

At least you don't live in Jiiha village.

I've heard the earthquakes there are particularly bad and occasionally result in falling giant faces.

Sounds frightening! Fortunately we don't have any giant faces.

If you thought that was unexpected, we had an earthquake here in Florida about a year ago. That was a pretty big WTF moment.

Huh, I didn't even know there were faults there.

Good reasons to live in MN:

- The state is not constantly in a state of fire, flooding or earthquakes
- No hand size spiders or roaches
- Water!

Water? Is that that "rain" and "snow" stuff they have in the movies?
